Quantum drives in many cases be working perfectly one day and then the next suddenly fail. They will not be recognised by the bios and sometimes the bios may identify them with their factory code names. The main problem with Quantum drives is PCB failure, this happens when a chip on the electronic board on the back of the hard drive fails.
